On June 21st, 2022 Lugbauer hit his 33rd career home run as a Mississippi Brave, setting the all-time club record in the Mississippi Braves’ 5-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits. His 33rd home run passed Travis Demeritte and Connor Lien who he tied with a home run in Rocket City on June 9th. On September 9th, 2022 Lugbauer smashed a two-run homer over the “Visit Mississippi” sign in left field, breaking the franchise single season home run record with his 27th homer in the Mississippi Braves 8-3 loss to the Biloxi Shuckers at MGM Park. He finished with 28 HR’s and surpassed Ernesto Mejia (2012) and Mike Hessman (2001). He also led the Southern League with 28 home runs and 82 RBIs. Lugbauer holds the M-Braves career home run record with 46 homers in two seasons with Mississippi.

In 2023, Lugbauer posted an .898 OPS with 25 home runs and 73 RBI over 96 games in Atlanta’s minor-league system, finishing up at Triple-A Gwinnett. He could get his first taste of MLB action at some point during the 2025 campaign given the A’s glaring need for power production.

The Copa de la Diversión (transl. Fun Cup) is an initiative by Minor League Baseball to promote the sport and connect its teams to their Hispanic/Latinx communities. Teams adopt a culturally-relevant on-field persona for certain games each season. The promotion started in 2017 with the Es Divertido Ser Un Fan (“It’s Fun to Be a Fan”) fan engagement program. Four teams participated: the Las Vegas 51s, who took the field as the Reyes de Plata (“Silver Kings”); the Charlotte Knights as the Charlotte Caballeros; the Visalia Rawhide, who played as the Visalia Toros; and the Kane County Cougars, who did not change their name for the promotion. In 2018, the program was renamed Copa de la Diversión and expanded to 33 teams. A trophy (the “Fun Cup”) was awarded to the Albuquerque Isotopes franchise, who played as the Mariachis de Nuevo México and set new attendance records during Copa games. In 2019, participation increased to 72 teams. Six teams that participated in 2018 using direct Spanish translations of their usual team name adopted new identities for 2019. The number of participants increased to 92 for the 2020 season.

Nevada is known as the Silver State due to its rich mining history. The abundance of silver in the state led to its admittance, as a state, into the United States during the later stages of the Civil War. Mines across Nevada relied upon the hard working migrant workforce to extricate the precious ore from the ground. The importance of the Hispanic / Latino immigrants in Nevada’s original industry led to the birth of this state and in doing so we pay homage to this history. This is why Reyes de Plata (Silver Kings) was conceived. The logo has fun and brings in elements of both the meaning of the name and the Hispanic / Latino culture. The miner carries a pick axe, but the head is a skull reminiscent of the Dia de los Muertos celebrations and the sugar skull.
