In his senior season at Michigan, the California native was 1-1 with an 8.42 ERA, 1.95 WHIP in 25 2/3 innings, striking out 21. Beers’ best season came in 2020, when he posted a 3.13 ERA in 23 innings. During his four-year Michigan career, Beers was 4-4 with a 6.56 ERA in 71 1/3 innings. He struck out 58 and walked 40. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder was the third Michigan player drafted behind left-handed pitcher Steven Hajjar (second round, Minnesota Twins) and shortstop Benjamin Sems (15th round, Colorado Rockies).
In August 2024, Beers was named MiLB Pitcher of the Month in the Texas League for the Midland RockHounds! The right-hander was 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 0.71 WHIP. For the 2024 MiLB Season, Beers split time between the Midland RockHounds and the Las Vegas Aviators and was 11-7 with a 3.91 ERA and 139 Strikeouts in 149 Innings. Beers has tantalizing stuff, including an upper-90s fastball and a knee-buckling slider. With the right development, Beers could be getting outs in the Athletics bullpen before long.
