Description
Herbert Iser is a catcher for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, the High-A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Iser was drafted in the 2019 MLB Draft in the 23rd Round with the 690th pick by the Philadelphia Phillies. He attended San Jacinto College before transferring to Dallas Baptist University. Iser was a four-year letterman during his prep career after spending time at Osceola High School, Miami Killian High School, and Miami Sunset High School.
As a freshman in 2017, Iser helped lead San Jacinto to the NJCAA Division I World Series finals after posting a .281 batting average to go along with seven home runs and 37 RBI in his first collegiate season.
In his sophomore season, Iser hit .322 with 11 home runs and 51 RBI for a San Jacinto team that reached the NJCAA Division I World Series for the second straight year. He was named to the World Series All-Tournament Team after hitting .471 (8-for-17) with a home run and three RBI. Iser entered the 2018 season as the No. 14 prospect on Baseball America’s Top 50 JUCO Draft Prospects and was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in 24th round of the Major League Draft following his sophomore season. At the end of the season he played for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod League in 2018.
In 2019 in his 1st season of pro ball, Iser notched a .221 average with a pair of homers and nine RBI in 37 combined games in the Gulf Coast League and with short-season Class A Williamsport. In 2021, Iser played in a combined 70 games for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, Clearwater Threshers and Lehigh Valley IronPigs and knocked in 31 runs.

The Clearwater Threshers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Low-A Southeast and the Low-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. They are located in Clearwater, Florida, and have played their home games at BayCare Ballpark since 2004. Iser has signed the inside of the All-Star Catchers Mask and added “Go Phillies!” in black. The Catchers Mask was cleaned and doesn’t show any evident wear.
