Description
Tyler Tolve is a catcher in the Atlanta Braves Organization. The 22-year old was drafted by the Braves in the 17th Round of the 2021 MLB Draft. He played college baseball for the Kennesaw State Owls. The Owl’s selection made him the fourth KSU player to be selected by the Braves in the program’s history. Tolve attended Sprayberry High School in GA where he was awarded the Sprayberry Student-Athlete GPA award all four years of high school. The talented catcher was also named Sprayberry Player of the Year in 2017-18.
In 2020 at Kennesaw State, Tolve Started 16 games in the shortened 2020 season and finished the year with a .262 batting average recording 16 hits, including one double and one triple. He also logged four multi-hit games and was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts. The versatile catcher tallied 15 RBIs to rank third in the ASUN. He also scored 10 runs and matched his single-game career-high with three hits and four RBIs vs St. Peter’s (2/15). Tolve also recorded both RBIs in a 2-0 win over Brown (3/7) and had a .972 fielding percentage with a team-high 97 putouts and seven assists.
In his college career, Tolve Played in 51 career games, starting 49. In 2021, he finished the year with a .319 batting average recording a team-high 66 hits. He was second in ASUN with 49 RBIs. He hit seven home runs including one against Georgia Tech (5/1) and hit for a career day against Bellarmine (4/17), going four-for-four with a home run and two RBIs. When he wasn’t catching, he showed his diversity playing the outfield for the Owls. No player grabbed more total bases in conference play while he assisted in 31 putouts while only committing three errors.
In his 1st year of Pro Ball, Tolve played in the Florida Complex League before being promoted to the low-A Augusta GreenJackets, where he finished out the 2021 season after being drafted in the 17th round. In those two stops, Tolve batted a combined .287 in 24 games with three doubles, two triples, two homers and 10 RBIs.

The Rome Braves are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
