Indigo Diaz is a pitcher in the New York Yankees Organization. A native of North Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Diaz was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 27th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft. Diaz played college baseball at Michigan State University.
The featured Team Canada WBC Under Armour Shirt was issued to and game worn by Indigo Diaz in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The 2023 World Baseball Classic was an international professional baseball tournament and the fifth iteration of the World Baseball Classic. It began on March 8, 2023 and ran until March 21.
Japan won their record-extending third title after defeating defending champions United States 3–2 in the championship game, becoming the second team since the Dominican Republic in the 2013 World Baseball Classic to win the WBC with an undefeated record. Shohei Ohtani was named the World Baseball Classic Most Valuable Player.
Tyler O’Neill of Maple Ridge, B.C., and Jacob Robson of Windsor, Ont., had four hits each to lead Team Canada to an 18-8 mercy rule win (seven innings) over Great Britain in their first game of the World Baseball Classic at Chase Field. The 18 runs are the most Canada has ever scored at the tournament. Unfortunately, Team Canada fell to Mexico 10-3 then was officially bounced from the World Baseball Classic after the United States beat Colombia 3-2 in the final Pool C game.
Diaz has signed the Shirt and added “2023 Game Worn” and “Go Team Canada” in black. The Shirt features the WBC Logo on one sleeve and the Team Canada logo on the corresponding one.
