Calvin finished the 2008 season first in the Sun Belt, in kick returns, averaging 25.7 yards per return, or 2.5 yards more per return than McKelvin had as a senior to earn All-America honors. His great season earned him Troy defensive player of the week honors twice – against FAU and North Texas – and Special Teams player of the week four times – vs. North Texas, ULM, LSU and ULL. Calvin became the first Trojan to ever capture Sun Belt Defensive and Special Teams player of the week the same week when he received both awards for his effort against North Texas, which included 11 tackles, two for loss. The cornerback also had a season-high 12 tackles and had five kickoff returns for 116 yards against his hometown LSU. The future is bright for Calvin who will make a great addition to any NFL team.
