Description
Devon Cajuste is a free agent wide receiver/tight end most recently playing for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. The talented wide receiver was signed by the San Francisco 49ers shortly after the 2016 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. Cajuste has also been a member of the Green Bay Packers. Cajuste played college football for the Stanford Cardinal.
Cajuste graduated from Holy Cross High School in Queens, NY and played for head coach Tom Pugh where he earned three varsity letters. The talented receiver caught 40 catches for 921 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior. His tremendous season was rewarded by being named all-state, all-city and all-league honors. As a senior, Cajuste led the league in receptions (47), yards (864) and touchdowns (9). He was named all-state, all-league, all-city, all-New York Post and all-Daily News. For his efforts, he was invited to five postseason bowls.
Towering at 6-foot-4 and 227 pounds, Cajuste was a big downfield target in the Stanford Cardinal offense for three straight productive seasons in college. A stretch that amassed him 89 receptions for 1,582 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, not to mention a 17.77 yards per catch average that highlights his ability to make big plays in the passing game. His best game came as a senior with a five-catch, 125-yard game in Stanford’s huge win over Notre Dame.
At the 2016 NFL Combine, Cajuste posted the best time of all wide receivers in the 3-cone drill 6.49. It’s the fifth-best mark a wide receiver has posted at the combine in a decade, and even more impressive considering Cajuste’s size. The 3-cone drill is a quickness test that generally favors shorter, agile receivers. The fact that a tall target like Cajuste moves like that in the drill shows he has a unique level of quickness. The sky is the limit for this talented receiver!
In 2018 Training Camp with the Cleveland Browns, Cajuste quickly became a star on Hard Knocks. After the show shared a story about Cajuste and his father and the ups and downs they overcame to make his NFL career a reality, the receiver became a huge fan favorite. Cajuste is also an expert when it comes to the healing power of crystals (part of his collection was featured on the show) and now Devon is thinking about starting a podcast or YouTube channel dedicated to the craft. Unfortunately, Cajuste was waived by the Browns on September 1st, 2018 during roster cutdowns.
The featured black official Stanford Cardinal Nike Dri-Fit XL Shorts were worn in practice by Devon Cajuste as a member of the Cardinal. Cajuste has signed the inside waistband twice and added “Practice Worn” and “Training Worn” in black. The Shorts show good wear!
