Description
Frank Ginda is a free agent linebacker most recently playing for the Miami Dolphins. He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2018 NFL Draft. Ginda played college football at San Jose State.
Ginda attended Pacheco High School in Los Banos, California. Along with football, he also played basketball and participated in track and field. As a senior in 2014, he tallied 115 tackles and 8 tackles for loss. On October 14th, 2014, Ginda committed to play football at San Jose State University.
As a true freshman in 2015 with the Spartans, Ginda played in 13 games, making 12 starts, tallying 80 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. In 2016, as a sophomore, Ginda played in 12 games, making 99 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss, including five games with ten or more tackles. In addition, he had 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception.
As a junior in 2017, Ginda was the NCAA leading tackler with 173 total tackles, an average of 13.3 per game. His 173 total tackles is the most in Mountain West Conference history and ranks eighth in FBS history. He was named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team. After the season, he declared for the 2018 NFL Draft, foregoing his senior season. In three seasons with the Spartans, Ginda finished his career with 351 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 9.5 sacks.
In between the combine and the NFL Draft, NFL coaches and personnel — not to mention the prospects themselves — turn their attention to the various college “pro day” workouts. These are not as all-encompassing as the combine, but they are important enough for the key decision-makers in the league to travel around the country for more than a month to see the talent up close and personal.
The featured black and silver nike gloves were worn by Frank Ginda for San Jose State Spartans Pro Day on Friday, March 23rd 2018. The talented linebacker wore these gloves and another nike pair throughout the day. Ginda measured 6 feet and 235 pounds, completed 29 reps on the bench press and touched 33 inches in the vertical jump and 9-foot-6 in the broad jump. He timed between 4.68 and 4.72 in the 40-yard dash, 4.28 in the short shuttle and 6.8 in the three-cone drill. One of the nation’s most prolific run defenders the past two years, looked good in drills and showed quick change of direction and lateral speed. The NCAA leading tackler has signed the gloves and added “Pro Day 3/23/18” to the left one and “Pro Day Worn” to the right one. His number ‘#5″ is written in silver on the wristband of each glove. Awesome pair of gloves for a Spartans Fan!!!
