Description
James O’Hagan is a center for the New York Giants. He was signed shortly after the 2019 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. O’Hagan played football for the Buffalo Bulls. O’Hagan attended Seaford High School in Seaford, NY where he was the number one heavyweight wrestler in the state and one of the top 20 heavyweights in the nation. Along with his career on the mat, he was a four-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines for head coach Rob Perpall, making the first team All-Metro and All-State squads. As a senior on the defensive line, he recorded 112 tackles and 12 sacks.
In 2015 with the Buffalo Bulls, O’Hagan started every game and anchored an offensive line that averaged 386.4 yards of total offense and averaged 26.7 points per game. In his sophomore season, he started every game at center for the second straight season. He was named All-MAC Third Team and helped pave the way for running back Jordan Johnson’s 1,000-yard season. In 2017, the talented center started all 12 games at center and helped block for an offense that piled up a school-record 5,183 yards of total offense on the season. He was also named All-MAC Third Team.
While playing the center position in the MAC Conference, O’Hagan earned the No. 1 pass blocking grade among all draft-eligible centers during the 2016 and 2017 seasons before returning to finish his career at Buffalo during the 2018 season, according to Pro Football Focus. In 2018, O’Hagan took a slight step back in as a pass blocker (No. 4) but finished as the No. 1 overall center in college football thanks to his No. 1 run blocking grade. The New York Giants signed O’Hagan as an undrafted rookie free agent following the conclusion of the 2019 NFL Draft as teams passed over him solely due to his size.
Giants offensive line coach Hal Hunter already likes what he’s seen from O’Hagan during the team’s rookie minicamp and he is confident the rookie’s ability to play with leverage will make up for his lack of size. “He’s really, really tough,” Hunter said, via Newsday. “He’s fairly smart and he knows how to play with leverage. He’s not quite as big as you’d like him to be, but by the same token when you play with leverage you can play bigger than you actually are. He has all of that combined. “He was a wrestler, so he’s got a lot of balance and he knows how to control his body.”
The featured size 13 black and white Buffalo Bulls ISlide sandals were worn by James O’Hagan around the locker room as a member of the Bulls. The talented center has signed the sandals and added his “#77” and “Go Bulls!” in silver. The sandals are in great condition. Unique item for a Buffalo Bulls Fan!!!
