Description
Jeff Hansen is a former center for the San Diego Chargers. He played college football at Montana State where he was the captain of the offensive line. During Hansen’s four eligible seasons with the Bobcats, MSU won 28 games, including second-round FCS playoff win over Furman in 2006.
Hansen was named to the Walter Camp FCS All-America Team for the 2009 college football season as selected by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Hansen also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors as a junior and First Team All-Big Sky honors. Hansen anchored a Bobcat offensive line that helped MSU finish second in the league in rushing yards per game (147.2) and third in sacks allowed (1.6) Aside from his technical expertise and formidable talents as a run blocker and in pass protection, Hansen is able to channel a measure of tenacity when he steps on the field.
After going undrafted in 2010, Hansen signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers. He made the practice squad, but when San Diego signed Marcus McNeil to a long-term contract and brought in a veteran to back him up, Hansen was out of a job.
He had a short stint with the Cleveland Browns and tryouts with the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Six weeks into the 2010 season, he signed with the Tennessee Titans. He was set to return in 2011, but the NFL lockout coupled with constant injuries made Hansen reevaluate what he wanted in life and he retired.
The featured size 13.5 white, blue and gray nike speed shoes were game worn by Jeff Hansen as a member of the Montana State Bobcats for two games during the 2008 season. The former team captain wore them against Northern Arizona on Saturday, November 8th and Idaho State on Saturday, October 4th, both wins for the Bobcats. The Northern Arizona game was a thriller with Bobcats kicker Jason Cunningham kicking a 38-yard field goal with 1:24 remaining to give Montana State a 25-23 win. The field goal came after Montana State put together an eight play, 59 yard drive highlighted by a 44 yard pass from third string quarterback Mark Desin to DeSean Thomas. Hansen’s #76 is written in black on the heel of both cleats. Hansen has signed both shoes and added the scores of each game. Awesome!
