Lawrence Virgil is a free agent defensive end, most recently playing for the New Orleans Saints. Virgil played college football at Valdosta State University and attended Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia.

Virgil played high school football for the Brooks County High School Trojans. He helped the Trojans to a 9-3 record and the round of 16 of the Georgia AA state tournament.

Virgil was a three-year starter for Valdosta State, recording 126 tackles, 28.5 tackles for a loss, 14.5 sacks and eight forced fumbles in 44 games. In his senior year, he recorded 48 tackles, 8.5 stops for a loss, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. As a junior, Virgil earned Honorable Mention All-America, first-team All-Super Region 2, and second-team All-Gulf South Conference playing in and starting 14 games recording 52 tackles (24 solo), 12.0 for a loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, two recovered fumbles and one pass defensed.

Virgil signed with the New Orleans Saints on May 12, 2014 after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was released by the Saints on August 30 and signed to the team’s practice squad on September 2, 2014. He was promoted to the active roster on November 27, 2014. Virgil made his NFL debut on December 28, 2014 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
