Description
Nick Bellore is a linebacker and special teamer with the Detroit Lions. Bellore signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2011. Bellore has also been a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He played his college ball at Central Michigan University where he had a great career.
Bellore was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and attended Whitefish Bay High School, graduating in 2007. He chose to attend Central Michigan for a chance to start at linebacker immediately, despite interest from the University of Wisconsin and Kansas State University.
Bellore started 52 games in his career, which is tied for the most in school history. He ranks third in CMU history with 472 total tackles including an outstanding 24 career 10-tackle games. Bellore had three consecutive 100-tackle seasons and was just the sixth player in CMU history to earn All-MAC first team honors in three different seasons. For his stellar 2010 season, he was selected to play in 2011 East-West Shrine Game and was named to the All-MAC first team defense. He also earned the Ring of Honor team award and was elected as a co-captain by his teammates. He was named MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week for performance against Hampton (9/2) which included 11 tackles, including a tackle for loss. For the 2010 season, he added four more 10-plus tackle games. (Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and Toledo) In the Northern Illinois game, he dominated posting a season-high 14 tackles in loss.
The Chippewas appeared in three bowl games during Bellore’s career, winning one (the 2010 GMAC Bowl), only the second bowl win in CMU history. He was also selected as CMU’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
Bellore played in all 64 games with the Jets over a four year span (2011-14), and registered three tackles along with 90 special teams tackles. In 2014, he ranked second on the team with 15 special teams tackles. Bellore led the team in special teams tackles in each of his first three seasons with the Jets (31 in 2011, 17 in 2012 and 27 in 2013). On October 14th, 2012, Nick Bellore caught his first career pass on a fake punt by Tim Tebow. He gained 23 yards on the play. Jets coaches looked into converting him to play fullback in training camp of 2012, but the experiment was short lived and he returned to linebacker. On January 6, 2015, Bellore was named to the 2014 Pro Football Focus All-Pro Team.
In 2016 with the San Francisco 49ers, Bellore appeared in 14 games where he started a career-high 10 games and registered 82 tackles, four passes defensed and the first sack, interception and fumble recovery of his career. He was placed on injured reserve on December 19, 2016 with an elbow injury.
The featured white and black nike superbad cleats were game worn by Nick Bellore when the Jets faced the Oakland Raiders on September 25th, 2011. The Raiders won 34-24 behind Darren McFadden’s 171 yards and 2 Touchdowns but Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for a career high 369 yards in the loss. Bellore had a tackle in the game and has signed the cleats and added “Worn 9/25/11 Vs. Raiders, Sanchez 369 Yards 1 Tackle” to the left cleat. The cleats show good use!
