Description
Ramses Barden is a former NFL wide receiver, most recently playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Giants in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Against the New England Patriots, Barden won Super Bowl XLVI with the Giants. He played college football at Cal Poly-SLO. Barden finished his college career with 206 receptions, 4,203 yards, and 50 touchdowns. Barden has also been a member of the Buffalo Bills.
Barden was born in Altadena, California. He played high school football at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada Flintridge, California. The three-time all-league selection caught 41 passes for 915 yards and 4 touchdowns as a senior, while also playing free safety. As well as playing football, Barden averaged 17 points per game in basketball and competed also in volleyball and track and field. He was also named small schools High School Athlete of the Year, while being pursued by UPenn, Stanford University, San Diego, and Cal Poly. Barden ultimately signed with the Cal Poly Mustangs.
As a senior in 2008 at Cal Poly, Barden matched his junior year mark of 18 touchdowns and improved his reception totals with 67. He had 1,257 yards receiving. Barden finished his Cal Poly career with 206 receptions, 4,203 yards, and 50 touchdowns. In his last game at Cal Poly had 108 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 49-35 loss to Weber State in the first round of the FCS playoffs.
At the 2009 NFL Combine, Barden measured in at 6’6″ tall and 225 pounds and recorded scores during the tests that showed his dynamic speed and explosive ability that had never been seen before in a player of his size. These scores included 4.48 in the 40-yard dash, 17 reps on the bench press, a 33.5″ vertical jump, and a 9′ 10″ broad jump.
Barden caught his 1st NFL pass on January 3rd, 2010 against the Minnesota Vikings. On September 20th, 2012 vs. the Carolina Panthers, with Hakeem Nicks out with a foot injury, Barden had a breakout performance with 9 catches for 138 yards.
The featured black and white nike cleats were game worn by Ramses Barden during 2009, his rookie season as a member of the New York Giants. Barden’s #13 is written in silver on back of each heel. The cleats are unsigned and show light use.
