After receiving a high school degree while attending at Washington Township High School in Sewell, New Jersey, D’Imperio attended Rutgers and made an instant impact at linebacker. For the 2010 season, he finished with 73 on a defense that created more takeaways than all but four teams in college football. All of those teams played one more game than the Scarlet Knights. On September 21st against Florida International, D’Imperio led the way with 8 tackles, 1 sack, 2 quarterback hurries, and an interception return for a touchdown. Throughout his college career, D’Imperio recorded 177 total tackles, 6 quarterback sacks, and 2 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
