Description
Ryan Spadola is a wide receiver for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League. He was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Spadola has also been a member of the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at Lehigh.
Spadola was a member of the Super 100 Athletes in New Jersey. He went to Freehold Township High School and graduated in 2009. He was among the players in the Top 170 in the country and was a member of the All-Shore Team while at high school.
Spadola had 232 career receptions for 3611 yards and 24 Touchdowns with the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. In addition to the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts, he also drew interest from the New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers. Spadola showcased his talents leading up to the draft at the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Game. He was also one of approximately 300 draft hopefuls to participate in the annual NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Spadola honed his skills at Brandon Marshall’s Fit Speed Athletic Performance in Florida before headlining Lehigh’s Pro Day in early March.
Ryan Spadola was a breakout star in 2013 NFL training camp and preseason. The wide receiver helped the New York Jets defeat the New York Giants in Week 3 of the preseason, thanks to his three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Spadola also caught a 70-yard pass from Matt Simms to set up Billy Cundiff’s game-winning field goal in the game.
