Tommy Myers is a former tight end with the Connecticut Huskies. Myers participated in the New Orleans Saints rookie mini-camp shortly after 2018 NFL Draft. He was a three-sport standout (football, basketball, track and field) at Coventry High School in Coventry, Connecticut. Myers earned First Team All-Hartford Courant as a senior and second team all-state honors from the New Haven Register.
His family has a long history with UConn. His father, Norm, played football there (1981-84). Peggy Myers played women’s basketball (1982-86) and compiled 1,413 career points and 937 rebounds. In 1986, she became the first player from UConn to be named first-team All-Big East. His sister, Kelly, ran track three years (2014-16).
The 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end was primarily used for blocking at UConn. In 47 games, Myers caught 30 passes for 351 yards and three touchdowns. On September 3rd, 2015 Myers had 83 receiving yards against the Villanova Wildcats. His best season came in 2015 when he had 16 catches for 232 yards and two scores before suffering an ankle injury against Houston that cost him the final two games of the year. As a fifth-year senior in coach Randy Edsall’s return to UConn, he had three catches — including a touchdown grab on Senior Day against South Florida — for 28 yards.
The featured blue and white Connecticut Huskies nike speed vent performance shorts were worn by Tommy Myers in pregame as a member of the Huskies. Myers has signed the shorts and added his “#80” and “Pre-Game Worn” in black. There is also an “80” written in black on the laundry tag inside the shorts. The shorts are water repellant with vent holes at lower back legs and inseam. The shorts feature the UCONN logo on the right leg and nike swoosh on the opposite side. The shorts are in great condition.
